I-95 Accident Incident: Motorcyclist Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash, Authorities Say
With deep sadness, we reflect on the tragic loss of a motorcyclist who died in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Dorchester County. The fatal incident has left loved ones grieving and has underscored once again how quickly life can be changed on the road.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Tuesday afternoon near the 77-mile marker, between Saint George and Reevesville. Officials reported that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when, for reasons still under investigation, the rider lost control and the motorcycle overturned into the roadway. No other vehicles were involved.

Emergency responders arrived promptly at the scene and provided assistance, but despite their efforts, the motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim as next of kin are being notified.
At this time, investigators are continuing to examine all possible contributing factors, including roadway conditions, mechanical issues, weather, and other circumstances that may have led to the loss of control. The investigation remains active, and officials have not confirmed whether impairment or speed played any role in the crash.
Following the incident, sections of the interstate were temporarily affected as troopers secured the area, documented evidence, and worked to reconstruct the sequence of events. Crashes of this nature often require detailed analysis due to the limited number of external factors involved.
This tragedy is a stark reminder of the inherent risks motorcyclists face on high-speed highways such as Interstate 95. Even in single-vehicle incidents, a momentary loss of control can have irreversible consequences.
As the investigation continues, authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward with information that could assist in understanding what occurred.
May the victim rest in peace, and may their family and loved ones find strength, comfort, and healing during this difficult time of loss.
